Building Community, Enabling Conversation
The lecture I went to was pretty much about how they redesigned the staff room area to be more open and making it so staff were interacting with more staff often. They pretty much went through their whole process and how they involved the staff (users) into their process.
-The open work environment ended up taking up less space so it became more sustainable as well.
-I liked the idea of the themed spaces where they had rooms that had specific rules or rooms that were specifically for projects etc.
-They had someone who continually built research on how people were behaving in the space.
-They limited colour to make the space more communal as all staff had their own spaces.
-Adding little details like a coat rack so they could recognize who was their just by their coats.
-The idea of box meeting rooms and that people could see through the meeting rooms.
