Dossier Stuff

Below are screenshots of what I've done so far for the dossier.
-Just the general layout at the moment
-Most of the typed up information is from the last dossier but I need it to be referenced if we are still using it.

Pages that still need to be done:
Prototype pages (around 1 spread each) :
-flyer (a bit more info)
-web banner
-logistics
-poster
-bike banner
Budget page-> diagrams, figures, stats, costs
Reference page/references

Meeting notes- week 12

So I think we are just continuing with our assigned tasks. The Event is still focused on reading outside in civic square.
-Getting stuff done before Monday would be good or at least most of the work.

-I'll try add or edit things in dossier, However I might need help with the writing. And obviously the imagery and stuff that's going in the dossier.

Stuff to do:
-We'll need an explanation of each touch point. So an explanation for each of the tasks we were assigned to ( Costs, Ideas etc. )
-Some insitu examples of assigned tasks could be good, screenshots, images etc.
-Presentation--Figure out what we are doing for this.
-Gifs or presentable rendered examples

Logistics
-Numbers,stats, figures (suggest cheaper and more expensive?)
-Propose poles for shadesails or tents with the alternative of the umbrellas.
-Canopy
-30 beanbags
-Umbrellas
-Bookshelves- Book areas- Selling and borrowing books
-Fencing/rope posts for sectioned off areas
-Food stalls? or food trucks---> form or pay them to advertise the library event e.g putting posters on trucks
-Keep the food area and reading area separate
-Food closest to library
-Funnel to Library?

-Also if there's room maybe somewhere to sign up to be a member (kiosk thing)

Feedback wall (Maybe inside?)
-What do you love about the library or what could they improve?
-maybe increase memberships in long run through receiving and changing through feedback

Event Layout and Logistics

cost wise the most efficient purchase for shade would be the 3m Kaleido canopy as it covers more area and the better quality means it will likely last longer.

119 dollars per umbrella set up (umbrealla canpoy and concrete base) would be an efficient way to provide portable shade on the day of the event

Event Concepts

 Typefaces
Flyer Trial2
-Still working on it

-Paragraph text used: Aktiv Grotesk -Regular
-Yellow: C=0 M=25 Y=98 K=0

-At the moment the flyer is roughly slightly less than A4 (double sided colour). The smaller mock up one is probably more portable.

-To go with the square theme. I made a flyer that you can fold out endlessly. Making the average flyer more interactive. Pretty easy to make as well, just need to stick four pieces of paper together.
-I'll make another flyer folding style just in case this one would be too annoying to reproduce in a larger quantity.

-Non colour mockup of trifold square flyer.
-A little unsure what or how much content to put in them.

Tried out a different Typeface
-Typefaces: Swistblnk Monthoers, Roboto- Regular
-Illustrator files and fonts are on the drive- if anyone needs them
-I think it might look better with these typefaces
-Wasn't sure about colours so I just used yellow and an off black for now
(plus side of having one colour is that they could just print black and white on coloured paper which is probably cheaper anyway)

-Black: C: 70, M: 67, Y: 64, K: 73
-Yellow: C:  0, M: 20, Y:98, K: 0

-Also, tried a square type font- Dense-Regular (right image)

-Layout developments

Story wall idea ( just an idea, don't need to use it)

-Not sure if it would relate to the event, but..
-It would be a wall dedicated to people being able to pin up drawings or writing on a wall.
-And maybe in the long run the drawings and writing could be collected and made into a small book for members- But yeah not sure about idea
An opinion or feedback wall in the library (instead of storywall)
-During the event people would be invited to write their opinion and post stick on the wall.
-Little papers are maybe post-it notes

Research into the " Umbrella Revolution"

A wall of Post-it notes to show support for a protest. For they encouraged participation by using Facebook to organise the event, twitter to keep updating and YouTube to show what happened in the event.

Meeting notes- week 11

We are deciding to focus mainly on the Summer Event.

Event
-The Event is to encourage reading in the sun and as a result maybe increase memberships.
-The event may have both being able to go inside the library if it's too hot and dedicated areas outside to read in the sun.
-Event name- Summer in the Square (Currently but can change)

-The Event is pretty much about books, Square, People having fun.

Event details
-Incorporating our idea into the existing summer city event (logo)
-The Event will be free entry with costs only for food and book sales
-A quiet event- so people can enjoy the pleasure of reading outside
-Have beanbags, event tents, shade sails (more expensive) or umbrellas (cheaper) or both for different audience types (individuals and groups)
-The event will have books, food (cold food, drinks?), shade areas, signage?
-Part of event can be inside
-A kiosk to sign up to be a member

Touchpoint- Asignments
-Web banners (gifs)- Josepth

-Book bike (banner)- Vanessa

-Posters- Zoe

-Mail Flyers and could possibly have flyers during the event (small format)-Sarah

-Event Layout/Logistics- Jordan
--->size of Area (estimates), roughly 45-50m length, 25m width (I think)

-In terms of presentation we could have a walk through video

-In situ photos of space and elements of space.

Other Stuff
-Visual style- will be vector style to appeal to our audience- we found some examples in class
-Colour pallet- Yellow (background- a must), Purple?, Blue, green
-Type Style- Charming, fun, kooky
-A tagline- Every summer has a story? or use a book quote?

Library- civic square research

Photos of parts of civic square space

-There was a recording booth van for welly next door when I went. Thought is was sort of relevant because they are using the Wellington City Council Colours. It's a project with massey students, I think as well.

-I Also, picked up a poster.

For the Event
-I found this which is a wall that encourages people to share their stories.

-In terms of our events,
We thought that maybe we could incorporate books or pages where people can sketch or write their summer stories. Then they could take this as free take away from the event or I had the other idea that the sketches and stories people write could be collated into a membership magazine (people who sign up as a member have the option to the free yearly magazine -An alternative could be a pdf magazine).

At first, I did have the idea of a comic con at the library. But it might be out of the library's budget.
My second Idea was the "Share your story" wall. Where there are mini books that people can grab to write, draw or use existing content to create a story.
-They could then either keep their story or they could submit it into a box where all the stories would be collated into a yearly magazine for the library members who sign up for it.
-The idea also came to mind, since the library has a community stories section on their website.
